Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in electrical engineering for a four-year college or university, plus 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing or design environment.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental and industry regulations in English. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory. Ability to work with concepts such as limits, quadratic and differential equations, and proofs of theorems.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Skilled in programming concepts and logic. Willing to learn new programming languages if necessary. Experience with Labview and/or Arduino preferred.
· Proficiency with computer software design tools (word processor, spreadsheet, internet, PCB CAD).
· Ability to invent or engineer electronic circuitry to accomplish specific design objectives.
· Ability to use electronic CAD systems for schematic design entry, simulation, and printed circuit board layout and routing.
· Ability to use electronic test equipment to troubleshoot electronic circuitry.
· Ability to write technical reports and training materials and to keep a laboratory notebook.
· Ability to diagnose electronics problems through the application of theory and testing.
· Ability to work with little or no supervision.
· Ability to plan, schedule, and execute projects.
· Ability to communicate effectively orally and in written form.
Electrical Test Engineer
The purpose of this job is to apply electrical and other engineering principles in the manufacturing and testing processes to assure a safe and reliable product. The main focus of this job is on digital products and smart valve technology. This job also involves technical support to customers, reps, field service technicians, suppliers, and Flowserve employees through phone conversations, emails, in-plant visits, off-site visits, and training classes.
Be available as an engineering resource for the assembly lines. Assist in setting up new product lines, and in maintaining and improving robustness of existing product lines. Provide support to the assembly lines in the form of troubleshooting, instruction, and training. Help in maintenance and calibration of test and assembly fixtures.
Provide documentation and engineering support for the design, assembly, verification, and maintenance of new test fixtures for new and existing products. Work with the design engineers to determine testing processes and procedures.
Assist as a representative member of the materials review board (MRB). This entails a periodic evaluation and disposition of the electronics assemblies that failed in assembly.
Work with vendors to resolve production issues such as obsolete components, part number changes, malfunctioning testers, bad components, etc.
