Position Description:

This position is responsible for the support of many diverse production processes in order to meet customer delivery and requirements for highly engineered flow control systems serving markets from oil and gas to nuclear. This includes providing manufacturing engineering support for daily operations and working with operations to resolve production issues with an emphasis on addressing root causes systematically. This position will be responsible for implementing new manufacturing processes, driving cost reduction initiatives, improving the accuracy and efficiency of operational data and analysis, as well as the resulting improvements in lead-time, productivity, safety, and quality.

Job Functions:

  • Support problem solving with production activities in order to meet customer shipments.

  • Review existing operations, seeking input from internal/external customers, to improve safety, lead time, & efficiency.

  • Collaborate with Product Engineering, R&D to produce prototype parts/processes.

  • Work with accounting to produce accurate cost estimates and standardized routing configurations.

  • Assist sales with operational capacities/capabilities, as well as special product quotations.

  • Drive strategic process improvements and cost reduction efforts.

Position Requirements:

  • BS in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering, systems engineering, or related position.

  • Experience leading lean / continuous improvement projects.

  • Experience with continuous improvement systems/tools such as VSM, A3, Hoshin, Visual Management, etc.

  • Experience with cellular layouts, CNC machining/fixturing, and assembly operations


  • ACAD, Excel, required. Inventor, Visio, SQL experience preferred.

  • Experience with ERP systems used in traditional operations, MES experience preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills with proven ability to foster highly engaged, cross-functional teams.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude, creativity, and excellent problem solving abilities.


  • Transactional process mapping, systems thinking, experience with SQL data sources, Arduino
